The case is missing its' handle and escutcheon plate. It has one objective in its' can and one eyepiece. The drawtube mechanism moves up and down smoothly with the rack and pinion mechanism and the fine focusing thumbwheel works well. There are no cracks or chips to the brass that I can find and the microscope has retained most of its' original lacquering and black japanning, however, there are the usual scuffs, marks and scratches that you expect from a well used item of this age.
